All you need to do is to enter your reference number into the official post office website and follow some simple steps to localize your package.
Where do you find this number?
The reference number is a number printed in your ticket or receipt. It contains between 9 and 27 numbers and it will allow you to localize your items along the way into its destination.
In case you have lost your receipt, you will be allowed to use other personal details to try to locate your item by calling the post office, but the online tracking system won't be available.
Once you enter the reference number into the system, you will observe different messages depending on the status of the package:
- "We are expecting it" - This means that your item is still in the sender's possession and ready to be picked up.
- When your item is at the Post Office and ready to be handled.- "We've got it"
- "Your item was posted at the Royal Mail customer service mail" - This message means that your item is in the Royal Post office network and it will include a location.
- "Internal exception occured" - this message appears when there are some system issues. In this case, you should try to log in later and try again.
- "In transit" - This means that your item is on its way. It will include a location.
- When there are possible pending payments or steps to complete before to complete the delivery. - "Pending"
- "Ready for delivery" - Your package is at your local post office near your district.
- "Your item was delivered " - The item has been delivered to its destination.
- If your item will be delivered on the next working day. - "Retention item"
- "We could not retrieve your details" - This message will appear when system issues occur. Try again later.
- If the item has been collected from the local post office. - "Collected"
